Frequently Asked Questions for 2022

 

Have questions about what to expect about your “Get Ready” or health insurance enrollment appointments this year at Foundation Communities (FC)? This list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) can help!

 

Q1. When is the sign-up deadline for 2022 health insurance?

A. For 2022 coverage, the enrollment period runs from Nov. 1, 2021–Jan. 15, 2022.

However, to get coverage starting Jan. 1, 2022, you must enroll by Dec. 15, 2021.

 

Q2. What are the steps to get health insurance for 2022?

A. Our process this year includes three easy steps!

 

èStep 1: Get Ready! Complete this intake questionnaire on your own; or, schedule your “Get Ready” appointment for intake over the phone;

 

èStep 2: Enrollment! Get scheduled, and complete your enrollment appointment by phone; and

 

èStep 3: You’re Enrolled! We can help you use high-quality, affordable healthcare throughout 2022!  

 

Q3. What do I need to be prepared for my intake questionnaire or “Get Ready” appointment?

A. FC staff will need to record information about:

  1. Your tax household 
  2. Your employment status
  3. Any offers of health insurance you might have from employers or other sources like Veterans’ organizations, Medicare, etc.
  4. Your login username and password for the federal health insurance enrollment website at healthcare.gov. Be sure to have those details on hand whether you fill out your own intake questionnaire or you make a “Get Ready” appointment to give our staff intake details over the phone.

Q4. How do I complete my intake questionnaire or “Get Ready” appointment?

A. Using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, click on the link here to access our online intake questionnaire on your own and get ready for your enrollment appointment. Completing the form can take up to 30 minutes.

“Get Ready” appointments over the phone can take 60–90 minutes. To schedule an appointment, you can click on this link or call 512-381-4520. On the day and time of your phone appointment, expect a call from 512-381-4520.

 

Q5. What happens after I complete my intake questionnaire or have my “Get Ready” phone appointment?

A. If you complete the intake questionnaire on your own, you will get a link to schedule your phone enrollment appointment.

If you complete a “Get Ready” phone appointment, your Intake Specialist will schedule you for your health insurance enrollment appointment, which will take place after Nov. 1, over the phone.

 

Q6. How will I know if my appointment is confirmed after scheduling?

A. You will receive an email from Get Covered America and a text message confirming your appointment. See sample messages below.

 

Q7. What if I need to reschedule my appointment?

A. Please call Foundation Communities at 512-381-4520 and a representative will get you rescheduled. Hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. You may leave a message as well, and our program staff will call you back to reschedule.

 

Q8. Is my appointment by phone or in-person?

A. All “Get Ready” and enrollment appointments are by phone. We are committed to keeping you, our volunteers, and staff protected.  

 

Q9. What do I need to have available during my enrollment appointment?

A. You will need the following:

  • Your Healthcare.gov login information (test that your login works before your appointment!);
  • An estimate of your entire tax household’s 2022 income;
  • Social Security Numbers or immigration documents for ALL HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS;
  • If your employer offers you and/or your spouse health insurance, please have the details of that offer on hand; and
  • Names of any doctors, hospitals, or medications you use.

Q10. What number do I call on the day of my phone enrollment appointment?

A. No need to call us! Please expect a call from 512-422-5395 on the day and time of your phone appointment. Please expect to be available for 90 minutes.
