Health Initiatives

Foundation Communities' Health Initiatives department is committed to improving the health of our residents and neighbors. We provide vital health care services on-site, including access to mental health care, as well as opportunities to engage in a wide range of physical activity, nutrition, and community health programs. The volunteers and staff on our Health Coverage team enroll hard-working families and individuals in affordable health insurance plans, providing them with peace of mind for the future.

The Health Initiatives department consists of five program areas:

Health and Fitness and Employee Wellness (fitness classes, health fairs, vaccinations, physical activity events, and employee wellness)

Health and Nutrition (food pantries, health and nutrition education, and community health work)

Value Statement: Health Initiatives fosters health and wellness for Foundation Communities (FC) residents and the greater Austin community. We accomplish this through a spirit of collaboration, innovation, and respect for the dignity and autonomy of others.

Vision: Health Initiatives (HI) empowers communities to improve health and wellness in Austin and beyond.

Mission: Create a culture of health, promote healthcare access and overall well-being, and increase health equity.
